Re:John Everett Pendleton Post Pendleton-Missouri Nov 9, 2001 & a GenForum Post by Cathie posted Nov 6, 2001 Pendleton-Missouri.She said "I have an Everett Pendleton in my line ... he was born in Nov. 1882 in Missouri ... his parents were Andrew David Pendleton and Mary Ellen Bilyeu."
I have information that can help you and Cathie for ancestors of Everett Pendleton's father Andrew Pendleton.I can't help with Everett's family though because I lost track of him after 1900.
I had tracked this family down the Pendleton line to Andrew and Mary's children and I have Everett born 1882 in Missouri. The last I had data for Everett was in the 1900Miller County, MO.,Richwood Township, Census Page 101B dwelling 204.Everett was 17 and was attending school. In the 1910 census he was not enumerated in his father's household.
I have Everett's parents as Andrew Davis Pendleton (born 1847 Missouri died after 1910) and Mary E. Bilyeu (born abt 1849 died before 1900).The Andrew Pendleton family is enumerated in these census and Everett and his siblings are listed:
1880 Miller Co., MO Page 207, Jim Henry Township, dwelling #37.
1900 Miller Co., MO Page 101B, Richwood Township, dwelling #204.
Andrew and Mary were married Dec 8, 1867 in Miller County, Missouri.I show these children:
Sarah E. born abt 1869, (son) M. J. born abt 1870, Martha J. born abt 1874, Owen E. born abt 1867, Henry A. born Jan 1880, Everett born Nov 1882, Iva born Feb 1885, Ida born Feb 1885, Harvey born Sept 1888, Adolphus born Apr 1891, and Perry born June 1896.
Andrew's parents were William Pendleton (born abt 1822 Virginia died after 1880 probably MO) and Sarah Lurton (born abt 1832 died between Sept 1855 - Sept 1856).She died after the birth of their third child Owen Pendleton who was born Sept 1855.William married (2) Martha A. Carroll Sept 11, 1856 and in census starting 1860 you'll find Martha as the spouse of William.
Andrew Pendleton shows in these census in his father's household:
1850 Osage Co., MO Page 435A Jackson Township dwelling 283.
1860 Miller Co., MO Page 25 Osage Township, Pleasant Farm P.O. dwelling 163.
Andrew was not enumerated in his father's household in 1870.
I do not have family of Andrew's mother Sarah Lurton.
William Pendleton (1822 VA) was the son of William Pendleton (born 1800 Amherst Co., VA died abt 1838 in Missouri) and Florentine Sarah Dillard Isbell (born abt 1807 Amherst Co., VA died Aug 17, 1856 in Osage Co., MO).
William (1800 VA) shows in the 1830 Missouri Census:
1830 MO, St. Louis, Co.William Pendleton b. 1780-1790 and his wife b. 1800-1810.They are listed with 2 males 0-5 years of age, 2 males 5-10 years of age and one female 5-10 years of age.
William (1822) moved with his parents into Missouri 1829-1830 after his grandfather Richard Pendleton of Amherst Co., VA, died in 1829.William had three brothers and one sister. His brothers were:
Zachariah Pendleton born abt 1824 Virginia died Aug 2, 1865 on his way home from a hospital in Little Rock, AR.He was a veteran of the Union Co E 11th MO Cav Volunteers and had contracted smallpox. He was in the hospital 2 months and was discharged and placed on a riverboat for a trip down the Arkansas River to the Mississippi then up to St. Louis then to his home in Maries Co., MO but he died on the boat near Cape Girardeau, MO before he reached St. Louis.
George W. Pendleton (born Oct 1825 Virginia died Sept 30, 1908 Osage Co., MO) and Elizabeth Green (born Mar 18, 1830 Kentucky died Nov 30, 1924 MO).They are my Pendleton line. They are my GGreat-grandparents.
Richard Pendleton (born abt 1828 died 1858-1860 MO).
William's sister was Frances Pendleton (born 1824 Amherst Co., VA died Feb 20, 1897).She married Lewis G. Wiles (born 1822 died 1888).
The parents of William (b. 1800 VA) were Richard Pendleton (born 1760 died May 20, 1829 Amherst Co., VA) and Mary Tinsley (born 1764 died 1844 Nelson Co., VA).She was a daughter of William Tinsley).
Richard was a Revolutionary War Veteran.Richard and Mary had 10 children.Richard's wife Mary applied for pension in 1844:
Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files Page 2651:
Richard Pendleton, Mary, VA Line W5514, widow applied 20 August 1844 Nelson Co., VA age 82, soldier married Mary Tinsley 4 Jan 1784 Culpepper Co., VA and sol died 20 May 1829 in Amherst Co., VA.
Richard Pendleton's parents were William Pendleton (born 1720 Amherst Co., VA died 1779 Amherst Co., VA) and Elizabeth Tinsley (daughter of Edward Tinsley).
William Pendleton's parents were John Pendleton (born 1691 VA died 1776 VA) and Mary Tinsley (born 1703) daughter of Samuel Tinsley.
John Pendleton's parents were Phillip Pendleton (born March 26, 1654 Norwich, England died Nov 9, 1721 VA) and Isabella Hurt (born Apr 26, 1661 VA died Nov 6, 1724 VA).
(You'll find good information of Phillip in the series of GenForum exchanges "Judge Edmund Pendleton's Bible Record" 10/21/2001.
I have quite a bit more that I can send direct including the Isbell line from Florentine Sarah Dillard Isbell back to John Isbell born 1640 England.
I have the Dillard line from Ann Dillard born 1724, who married into the Isbell line, back through her line to George Dillard born 1634 England and his wife Martha Breckenridge. My direct email is [email protected]
