My grandmother always made a point of saying that they were NOT related to Tom PENDERGAST the political Boss who went to jail, I believe.
Do you or does anyone else know if this is true. Allan PENDERGRAFT wrote several booklet on the PENDERGRAFT/PENDEGRASS family and he inclded in the title of one the surname PENDERGAST too. I have not been able to locate these books although they are listed at amazon.com as out of print.
