Pender Family Genealogy Forum

I recently purchased an ambrotype of a Confederate soldier in a North Carolina state issued uniform. There is writing in the case that says Mrs. Mammie Pender, B1 Elm City, North Carolina which is probably post war. In addition, there is some older writing that looks like it must have been written at the time the ambrotype was taken. It looks like it's addressed to a Mae Williams and is signed by Edwin. The ambrotype was purchased out of an estate sale in Goldsboro. I believe the soldier is Wright Edwin Pender son of Andrew Jackson Pender. The question I have is, is Andrew Jackson Pender an older brother of William Dorsey Pender? In the 1860 census for Wilson County, William Dorsey's parents and sister are listed two doors down from Andrew Jackson Pender and his family including Wright Edwon. It would be strange if they were not related and lived so close. Whatever information you have on Wright Edwin would be appreciate.
