Dear Diana,
I was just looking for one of my ancestors, Maria Matilde Pena. Matilde is not a very common name, so I thought my Matilde and yours might be the same.
My Matilde was married to Jose Leon Ramirez. I have never found any information on her parents. Matilde and Jose Leon lived in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon. They had about 7 children in the area of Cerralvo. The children's birth were in the 1780's and early 1790's.
I wouldn't be discouraged by the different husband and the disparity on the dates, if I were you. In those days women remarried when they were widowed.
