Thomas Postell Pelot was b. 28 (or 29) June 1835. He was killed in action on 4 June 1864 during the Civil War and was buried in Lot 778, Laurel Grove Cemetery, Savannah, Georgia. He commanded the Confederate Steamer Savannah and died during the capture of one of the union ships blocking the Georgia coast named the Water-Witch. There is a page documenting the life and family of Thomas Postell Pelot in the Pelot Family Genealogy. The book was written by my father, Dr. Meredith Bright Colket Jr., my mother, Julia Pelot Colket, and myself. Details on the book are found via my home page at http://www.colket.org in the genealogy section. The book is available in many genealogical libraries in the US. Libraries where the book is available are posted.
