According to a geneaology that our family received tracking our family, our Pelot family was traced back to Jonas Pelot (if I recall correctly - perhaps John or Jacque) who immigrated from Lake LaNeuevaville Switzerland - bordering southern France in the mid to late 1700's. He and his family immigrated to South Carolina.
