Dear Virgilio:

My name is David Varty and I was born in Montevideo in 1959. I was adopted in 1962 by American parents. My name before I was adopted was Ernesto Victorio (Vittorio?) Pellegrini. I am 45 years old and I look a bit like Carlos Pellegrini ("El Gringo", as his nickmane was back then).

I replied to Teresa Reynolds in the hope that she will reply to me regarding more history. Carlos spent some time in Uruguay, so I am hopeful that I am on the right track.

You and I may be related in fact. Though why I was given up for adoption is not clear. All I know is that I was dropped off at an orphanage in Montevideo (it no longer exists).

Please contact me if any of this information clicks with your research.

David (Ernesto)
