Dear Susan,
Patience Hallock Benjamin Richards was my husbands Great Great Great Great Great Grandmother! We are researching the Benjamin History. This is a hugh stretch, but we have a family portrait that we are trying to date in order to identify the family members. The woman in the picture may be Patience Hallock (your clarissa's grandmother).I am wondering if you have seen pictures of Clarissa, or Clarissa's mother Patience Pell?If so, would you please email my directly at [email protected] and then I can email you the picture so that you can see what you think.
Do you have any information about either Patience Benjamin or Patience Pell?I have a census from 1850, which lists children as Clarissa 13, Jesse 11, George 8, and another daughter age 5 whose name I am not sure of, maybe Hester J.
The last record we have of Patience Hallock Benjamin Richards is the 1850 census in which she was 81.Our family history says she is buried in The Clifford cemetery but we have been unable to find her.I have also found more on the internet about Clarissa's mother, which states she died in Clifford in 1859, but was buried in Siver Springs cemetery, which is quite a distance away? Have you ever been to any of the cemeteries? Hope to hear from you.
