Hello Gale, Found your post under the "Peirce" forum. Have you gotten any further info on Theodore (Seymore) Pierce (1854 WI-1924 IL? He's my great grandfather, too, via his son Homer L (1902-1973). Can't get beyond his parents: Theodore S Pierce (b. 1828 NY) or Carolyn Potter (b. 1832 NY). Info from an obit posted at the following link shows that he died in Moline 8/26/1924 at the home of Ray Alldridge: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=tyrilla&id=I23593 It says he had a brother, Henry, in Oklahoma. Theodore's wife, Agatha Anne Harrison is easy to trace, going way back to England. A similar post is at: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=tyrilla&id=I23592 What's strange is that Theodore's obit says he was a widower, though his wife Agatha died 15 years later. In the 1920 Illinois census, Agatha is referred to as a widow, though Theodore lived another 4 years. It's been more than 20 years since I visited the cemetery in Princeville, but I noticed and thought it odd that Agatha was buried in the Harrison plot, separate from Theodore. Also, probably just a remarkable coincidence, but there is a Theodore Pierce (born 1828) in 1880 Nebraska census (Jefferson County) with wife named Caroline Potter (b1832). Later, in 1920 Nebraska census (also Jefferson County), there is a Theodore S Pierce (b1854 Wisconsin). Father from NY but mother from VT. Any info or insights you may have would be appreciated.
