The 1850 census of Jackson Twp., Northumberland County lists an Eliza Pifer 12, daughter of Michael 52 and Barbara 52 a few houses down from Israel Carl 19. It may not be a coincidence.
Here are two people working on the same Peifer Family: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=Search&includedb=&lang=en&ti=&surname=peifer&stype=Exact&given=michael&bplace=&byear=&brange=0&dplace=&dyear=&drange=0&mplace=&myear=&mrange=0&father=&mother=&spouse=bar*&skipdb=&period=All&submit.x=Searchhttp://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=Search&includedb=&lang=en&ti=&surname=peifer&stype=Exact&given=michael&bplace=&byear=&brange=0&dplace=&dyear=&drange=0&mplace=&myear=&mrange=0&father=&mother=&spouse=bar*&skipdb=&period=All&submit.x=Search
I suggest getting her death certificate and obituary. The PA Dept of Health would have her death certificate. Check with the Pine Grove Historical Society and Historical Society of Schuylkill County to see if they can help with the obit. You could also try the Northumberland County Historical Society about finding a baptismal record for Elizabeth.
