I notice that you mention three names that are very familiar to me, although not of the same generation. Harry, John and George (the younger of the three I think), were all names of my grandmother's brothers. My Grandmother was Priscilla May Pegram born 1896 (Oxford) died 1985 (Poole)

She regularly told me that we were descendants of the Pegrams who fought during the American Civil War. There was also a connection with tea. I once presumed that we used to have plantations somewhere other than the U.S. Though now I think it more likely that she was refering to tea merchants. I have found some tenuous links with Ridgeways?

If only I had listened more when I was young, she really used to tell me a lot, but being a child at the time I didn't pay a lot of attention.
