I was at the library this week doing some research in Betty Couch Wiltshire's "Marriages & Deaths from Mississippi Newspapers" published in three volumes by Heritage books ... found the following in Vol I (1837-1863), p. 222 ....

Nov 15, 1854 Yazoo City Whig, J.A. Stevens, Editor & Proprietor, Yazoo City MS
Story: Explosion of the Steamboat "Lucy Walker" ... listed among those missing - Gen. J.W. PEGRAM of Richmond VA.
