Dorothy, Varchmin is near the coast of the Ost See (East See / Baltic Sea). Before the area became part of Poland after WWII, it was in Kreis Köslin. A Kreis is like a county. In 1910-1912, the population of Varchmin was 135 to 228. Varchim had a civil registry office, town offices, evangelical church, and a dairy. I have a large map of Pommern, and would be happy to mail you a copy of the area showing Varchmin, if you will send an S.A.S.E. to me at 7371 Rue Michael, La Jolla CA 92037-3915.
