I think your W.F. Pegg it the William Fox Pegg who married Mary Broderick.William Fox Pegg was born 11/9/1857 in Ontario, the son of Henry Pegg and Anne Fox.Henry died in 1900 in Newmarket, bd at St. John's Cem., Newmarket.William F. was one of nine children. He married Mary Broderick, b. 8/15/1852, d. 7/6/1888.They had two children:(1) Mary Mabel, b. 9/5/1881 (married John Barclay in 1908), d. 12/19/1966.and (2) John Pegg, b. 6/19/1885, d. the same day.
The marriage record for Mary Mabel Pegg and John Crawford:
#003450-08 (Toronto): John BARCLAY, 27, clerk, Glasgow Scotland, Toronto, s/o James BARCLAY & Mary WALKER, married Mary Mabel PEGG, 27, Newmarket, Toronto, d/o William PEGG & Mary BRODERICK, witn: W.J. PEGG & Naomi THOMSON, both of Toronto, 16 Sept 1908 (Rom Cath)
After Mary Broderick died, William F. married Marguerite Orvilla Gearns and they had seven children.
The Pegg family was originally Quaker and then Methodist, but Henry Pegg and his brother Joseph Pegg (my great great grandfather) married Fox sisters who were Catholic. They raised their children in the Catholic religion and it appears that Mary Mabel and John Barclay were also Catholic.
Henry Pegg was the son of Nathan Pegg and Abigail Seagle.
Nathan was the son of Isaac Pegg and Deborah Parks who first came to Ontario from PA (and formerly of NJ) in about 1800.
Isaac was the son of Daniel Pegg III and Hannah Clift?
Daniel III was the son of Nathan Pegg and Mary Unknown Heath Parks.
Nathan was the son of Daniel Pegg Sr. who we believe was the first immigrant of this Pegg branch, arriving in Philadelphia sometime around 1680.The father of Nathan and mother of Daniel Pegg Sr. was Barbara Jones.
