The Peerys of Indiana and Illinois are
predominately descendants of Joseph Peery I,
the youngest of the five Peery brothers who
settled in Augusta County Virginia in the
early 1700's.

Josephs' wife is unknown but was reported to
be of German descent.

Josephs' only known offspring was a son
named Phillip Peery born in the 1740s, 1748
I think.

Phillip married Elizabeth Dilling, also of
German descent, from Pennsylvania.

They and Joseph apparently remained in
Virginia, but their children and grandchildren migrated to Indiana, Illinois,
Ohio, and Iowa.

There are still Peery descendants today
in those areas.

Don Peery in Monroe, Iowa has a lot of info
on them. I don't have his address and phone
handy but he is listed in the white pages
for Monroe, Iowa. He is very helpfull and
enjoys exchanging research info with other

Later- Jim Peery
