In your research on New Jersey Peers-Piers do you have any missing Philip's or Matthias's from the 1700s? There is a large Peer family in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, founded by Philip Peer Sr. who came here in the 1770s with a large family. His son Matthias stated in a pension application that he was born in New Jersey. No one has yet been able to find out where in Jersey or if he is connected to the Dutch families founded there much earlier. A lot of Virginia Peers would be very grateful for any clues or leads.
