Hello Patti,
The Peels I have in Kentucky married into the Elms family. If you are interested, the book I copied this page out of is the "Livingston Co., Kentucky, vol. 1".It's like a big history book.
Here is the part that concerns the Peels.
Samuel Elms b:1770, married on Nov.19,1809 in Livingston County to Mary (Polly) Peel, daughter of thomas Pees, Sr. and wife Joanna.Polly was born 1788 in Tennesee.Children of Samuel and Polly born in Livingston county were Garret, born 1810, James Ford, Born 1813, Thomas, born 1-10-1814 and Margaret J., born 1816.This family migrated to Independence county, Arkansas by 1823.thomas Peel Sr. born Ireland, (probably county Down)was in the Revolutionary War from Pennsylvania. They were in Virginia and Tennessee before arriving in Livingston County in the early 1800's.Children of Thomas and Joanna were:Richard b:1-6-1780 in Virginia, married elizabeth Wilson 5-26-1805, Livingston County: John married Mary Elms, daughter of Christoper and Margaret, 5-26-1803 in Livingston county: Thomas b 1785 in Virginia, married Sarah Swann 11-28-1808 in Livingston County: Joannah married Joab Hardin in Tennessee before coming to Livingston county: Polly (Mary) b: 1788 in Tennessee, maried Samuel Elms: James E. b: 1791 in tennessee.
Thomas Peel, Sr. sold 100 acres to David Elms 8-4-1815 before departing for Independence co., Arkansas along with about 15 additional families including sons Richard, John, Thomas, James and son-in-law Joab Hardin.
I'm afraid I don't have anything else right now, but next time I go the the genealogy library, I will be sure to see what else I can find for you. I live in Houston, and we have a wonderful genealogy library called Clayton!
Let me know if any of these names tie in with your family.
bye now,
Becky
