Abilene Reporter News Abilene, Texas May 11, 1960 Mrs. JOE LEONARD BRYANT Baird: Mrs. Joe Leonard Bryant, 67, former longtime Callahan County resident, died Wednesday at Hendrick Memorial Hospital in Abilene following a lengthy illness. She had been hospitalized since Sunday. Born CARVIE EMMA PEEK in Tennessee on July 11, 1892, Mrs. Bryant moved to Callahan County at the age of six and lived here most of her life. She married Joe Leonard Bryant on Jan. 3, 1911 in Callahan County. They moved to Abilene in 1943. She resided at 1218 N 12th St. in Abilene. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Abilene and was affiliated with the Woodmen of the World Circle. Funeral will be held 4 p.m. Thursday in the Wylie Funeral Home Chapel here. Burial will be at Ross Cemetery here. Surviving are her husband; two daughters Mrs. L. J. SUTTON of San Angleo and Mrs. BILL SHUPAR(?) of Pueblo, Colorado; two sons, LESLIE of Baird and MILTON of 1477 Miner Lane in Abilene; two brothers C. M. PEEK of Baird and CHARLES C. PEEK of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Mrs. JOHN BRYANT of Clyde and Mrs. E. A. ELLIS of Houston; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers will be LOWELL BOYD, J. V. THOMPSON and CLYDE LATIMER, all of Baird; F. R. REYNOLDS, DELBERT WEBB and R. T. CHENAULT of Abilene. Notify Administrator about this message?
