Just a bit of info to further confuse you. John Peed and James Peed bought 174 acres in Lincoln County, Georgia on Jan. 16, 1823 directly across the Little River from Appling, GA. Abram Ayres was witness to the sell and John married Peggy Ayres. John bought James' portion from him Dec. 29, 1828. John later helped found Arimethea Baptist Church on this land and was buried there in an unmarked grave. His grave was moved by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers when Clark's Dam was built and the grave is still unmarked to this day.
