I have been in touch with a descendant of David James Wilkinson who married Mary Ellen Ro(d)gers. He was the s/o Jesse M. Wilkinson & Mary Ann Peebles.
I have also had much help from a desc of the Jonathan Pinkney line. As with me, she has strong reservations about J.P. being a s/o James Wilkinson b: 1810 Jefferson Co., GA; d: 1870 Polk Co., TX & Mary Ann Purvis b: 1815 Jefferson Co., GA; d: 1860 Polk Co., TX; m: Dec 2, 1831 Jefferson Co., GA.
