I know he was born in Healaugh, Yorks and married Mary Ann Alderson (born in Reeth). I also know that they had 9 children of whom one (Alice Ann Pedley, born 1890) is my Great Grandmother. I am led to believe, by the family bible, that William's mother was Eloic Demaine but do not know anything about his father. If anyone can help I would be grateful.
