I am working with Pedleys from Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. I do not know about Elizabeth from Cottenham, but am intrigued by William Smith m. 1813 because one of my Pedleys, Mary Ann (b. 1820), daughter of Thomas Pedley and Hannah Seekins, m. Edward Smith, son of a William Smith, in 1842. There may be no connection, but if one could be established it would benefit both of us. I think Edward died about 1850, and eventually Mary Ann and at least 2 of their children wound up in Ohio.
