The name Pedigo is a corruption of the name spelled
PEREGOIS, PEREGOY., PERIGORD and a few other variations.
Believed the name peregoy is of French origin, but to this day there us no proof of any connection to the Charles Maurice de Tallyrand the Duke of Peregorid, (XYZ affair) In fact there is no proof on any of his descendants migrationg to this country in the proper time frame to be a Pedigo ancestor. (this is one of those storys that gotpassed around about 75 years or so ago and as things go people are being led to believe it is the truth.
"Pedigo" is a 100 percent American invention.
Every Pedigo in this Country is relatedWe all descend from
the 2 runaway brothers Edward # 136 and Robert # 135.
Now in fact in this tinme period most people could not write
ther are documents where the name Pedigo is spelled 5 diff ways on one page alone.
Now if you pronounce Peregois, Peregord, Peregoy Perrigo,
Pedigo with a french or nasel accent they all sound the same
to a degree.
So being there is no other proof of the beginning we can safley say it is a american corruption and all it means is
100 percent american invention
