I live in Indianola, MS and am a direct descendent of David Peden. My Grandmother, Battie Dot Peden, married Fred Gully in DeKalb, MS in the early 1900's.They had 7 children, 4 boys and 3 girls. My father, Fred Rufus, (Zee) Gully was born September 1, 1915 and died March 29, 1998, following complications of stroke. Zee Gully married Miriam Baker on December 23, 1939, and I am the youngest of 6 children. My mother, and all my brothers and sisters live at or near DeKalb, MS. My father was very proud of his Peden ancestry, and had a sincere love of history. We attend the Peden reunion held in DeKalb MS in August of each year. The average attendance is approximately 120. The reunion is held in honor of my great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Richmond Peden, who raised a very large family (14, I think), on a farm in Kemper County, MS in the late 1800's. The old house is gone, but some of the land is still in the possession of family members.
