The 1851 census shows at Mary Jane Peddle aged 14.
Her parents were Phillip (aged 45 born in Somerton) and Sarah (aged 35 born in Somerton). She appears to have a brother William aged 16. I may have some more data which I'll try and find. The reason that I'm interested is that my Grandmother was Mary jane Peddle (not the same one). Her grandfather was a William Peddle who was born in 1841 in Somerton but I'm stuck with him. In the 1851 census when he is 10 he is living as a lodger i.e. not with his parents.

With the similarity of the names I suspect that the famillies must be relatives.

I'll be in touch when I've checked my other records.
