Dear Mr. Tate,

I, too, have a copy of that Coat-of-Arms. But, if you are descended from Joseph of Medford, CT don't put too much faith in the belief that it belongs to your family. More likely it belongs the "Massachussets Pecks". If you go to the Peck DNA website, you will find that the CT Joseph had an I Haplotype, while Robert of Suffolkshire (and thus Joseph of MA) had an R Haplotype. I have been told that our branch of the Pecks may well be Nordic in origin. Perhaps we are descended from Vikings who invaded and settled in England around the 9th or 10th century. Wouldn't that be fun?
