Virginia,

Thanks for the Info. I am decended from Payton S. Peavy, son of Ambrose Peavy (different spellings)and Vinny Rowland. In addition to Payton (born around 1810) and Little Berry, Ambrose and Vinny had a son named Archibald and a daughter named Polly (probably nickname for Mary). There may have been others but I have not been able to discover them. I have Payton's decendants pretty much mapped out but haven't done much with the others. Poly married a S.W.(william)Francis. The whole family were in Copiah County in 1830 but all except Archibald and his kids had disappeared from there by the 1840 census. Payton and Little Berry showed up in Lawrence Co. in 1840, but I have found no trace of Ambrose and Vinney or Polly and William.

If you have any info on these or on the Georgia Peavys, I would appreciate your sharing it with me. In the meantime, If your are interested in the details I have on Ambrose and the other Georgia clan, I would be happy to share it with you. My direct email is hpeavy@moscow.com.

Howard
