I am seeking additional information on a widow, Lucy Paesley, age 90, who is listed in the household of David W. Sims of Carroll County, GA in 1880 as his grandmother. Her birthplace, as well as, that of her parents is listed as VA. I think the surname spelling may be incorrect as I have found no information other than this one census for a Lucy Paesley. Does anyone have any information on a Peasley, Peaslee, or Paesley family from VA that may have moved to SC? David W. Sims was born in SC and was the son of William Sims, b. 1800 in VA, and his wife, Sarah Calhoun, b. 1809 in SC. The Sims family moved to Alabama by 1840 and David W. Sims moved to Carroll County, GA by 1870. Most of the Sims family remained in Randolph County, AL for several generations.
