Here are the first two generations 1 Nicholas Pees; b. about 1735 in Germany; d. at age 105 in PA; m. in Caniguegig [Note: I could not find Caniguegig on any map. In 1773 he moved with his wife and three children to what is now the township of North Strabane, Washington County, Pennsylvania. The journey was made by himself, Hannah, daughter Catharine, and sons Andrew and George on foot across the mountains and the Monongahela River with one horse to carry supplies and his youngest son George. On arrival at his new home, he first put up a small hut in which the family lived during the first winter on the South Branch of Chartiers Creek that became Washington County, PA. There he raised a family of eight children, three sons and five daughters. He built a mill on Chartier’s Creek between 1777 and 1781. Some of his descendants changed the surname to Pease.
