There are many more than two Jeremiah Pearsons in Georgia during this time period. I have just begun piecing documentation together to get them sorted out. If you have any documentation that makes it clear who is who, I would appreciate it.

There are a number of Jeremiah Pearsons in the Jones/Monroe/Upson county area, sons and grandsons of the earliest Jeremiah. He was born abt 1740 in South Carolina and fought in the revolution. (SALLEY & WATES, STUB ENTRIES TO INDENTS, BOOK V, #629). He reportedly died after 1820 in Jones County, Georgia. He is not on the 1830 census. Either he or his son executed a land transaction to Jeremiah's grandson, Jeremiah Matthews, son of his daughter Rebecca and her husband Benjamin Matthews.

The two Jeremiah Piersons on the 1820 Jones County census could be any combination of the orginal Jeremiah and his son, since they both fall into the same broad age bracket, and his grandsons. The son Jeremiah married Penelope Poole. There are some court records suggesting this is the Jeremiah in Jasper County by 1830, but I haven't proven that.

Grandson Jeremiah, son of James Pierson, married Keturah Oxford and stayed in the area.

Grandson Jeremiah, son of John Pierson, moved to Chambers Co, Alabama.

I'm sure there are many other Jeremiah grandsons.

Jeremiah Pearson, reputed son of John Pearson and Sarah Hall, appears to be a different family. John Pearson was born in Pa, and died in South Carolina. While living in SC, he provided supplies to the patriot troops during the revolution. Several of his sons migrated to Georgia. They do not appear to have lived in the Jones County area.

I have not determined how the Hancock County Jeremiah Pearson fits into the two families.
