I'm trying to get straight on Jeremiah Pearson, and I'm having trouble with the documentation matching reported "facts". Although the DAR has previously identified Jeremiah as a "patriot", I'm trying to prove a new descendent line through his daughter Rebecca, and the "facts" have to be proven...family histories are no longer accepted. 1. Jeremiah served as a Revolutionary soldier in the Camden district of SC, and was paid for service for 1781 and 1782. He received various land grants in the area between 1772 and 1784. 2. Jeremiah Pearson appears on the 1790 census in Camden district with only two males in the household...it would make sense that this is Jeremiah, BUT.... 3. Daughter Sarah reportedly married Vincent Allentharpe in Warren County Georgia in 1787. Is that correct? 4. Jeremiah Pearson reportedly died in Jones Co, Ga after 1820, I assume based on census records. Two Jeremiah Pearsons appear on the 1820 Jones County Ga census, but neither match the profile of the revolutionary soldier, Jeremiah Pearson. One is much too young (born 1794-1804). The other could be Jeremiah, but he could also be the son Jeremiah (born before 1775)...and the family members listed are much more consistent with the son rather than the father. So...does somebody out there have a primary source (not a family history) that could help sort these people out? I look forward to hearing from you! Notify Administrator about this message?
