PLEASE HELP - Need parent info and source for Rachel Peirce b.1777-1779, who married Gideon Goodwin of Chester Co., PA in Frederick Co., VA on 16 Aug 1797. They continued to live in Frederick Co., VA and later removed to Mt Pleasant, Ohio.
Other researchers have her daughter of (without citation of source):
JOSHUA PEIRCE(1742)& Rachel Hayes (1753)
SON of GEORGE (1714)& Lydia Roberts (1721)
SON of JOSHUA (1684) & Ann Mercer (c1693)
SON of immigrant GEORGE PEARCE (c1659) & Ann Gainer (1660)
An obituary and a biographical sketch and a Federal Census record states that Rachel Peirce was a "native of Virginia".
I found a GEORGE PIERCE and a JOSEPH PIERCE in 1787 Tax records for Fred. Co., VA. I also found separate entries in Quaker records for a GAINER PIERCE and SUSANNA PIERCE to and from Hopewell MM in Frederick Co., VA and Sadsbury MM (Lancaster) in 1792 and 1797 (the year Rachel was married to Gideon Goodwin). (No birth or church records are available in Frederick Co., VA for this period.)
I am trying to connect the PEIRCE/PIERCE family (that possibly lived) in Frederick County to THE GEORGE PEARCE/PEIRCE line in Chester County.
I am in editing stage of a family history book to be published, so need help NOW!
