Hi Elizabeth
Since I posted, I've found out a bit more about George Pearse - this is the correct spelling
1. Father - Peter Pearse who died before Mar 14, 1866
2. Family probably from Cornwall
3. George born 1816 - died after 1867
4. George married someone sometime before 1850 who died quickly
5. He married Jane Bonnycastle Mar 14, 1866 at St Lukes in Middlesex - they lived on 8 South St, Finsbury in Middlesex
6. Stockbroker on London Stock Exchange at least until 1867
7. Secretary of Chinese Evangelization Society
8. No known children by either 1st wife, or wife Jane
9. Probably spent life after 1866 as stockbroker, but barely possible he and jane went to China as missionaries with China Inland Mission
10. Jane living, probably a widow, in 1895
With all this, I can't say whether he's related to your George Pearse or not, because I don't really know anything about his family
