Chuck,
I'm posting the full results of my research into the Burke Co. N.C. family.I think it would be very valuable for a male Piercy-Pearcy from this line to have his Y-DNA tested for comparision to other Pearcy families to see if they match.

In the October 1843 Court Term in Burke County, Christian Piercy, widow of William Piercey (deceased), petitioned the court against Zacchaus Piercy, Salinda Piercy, Ezaus Piercy, Plantiana Piercy, William Piercy, Gabriel Piercy and Jesse Piercy, heirs at law of Wiliam Piercy, decd..She requested a dower be laid off and alloted to her.A jury alloted her 100 acres September 18, 1843 on the Upper Creek and the farm known as The Mansion Farm.

Descendants of John Wesley C. PIERCY
Generation No. 1
5. JOHN WESLEY C.2 PIERCY (PIERCY1) was born 1811 in Burke County, North Carolina. He married (1) BETSY COLLINS. He married (2) MARTHA J.. She was born in Haywood County, North Carolina.
Notes for JOHN WESLEY C. PIERCY:
Notes from Silvia Piercy. From the library of Andrews, Cherokee, North Carolina (By Mrs. DeWitt Piercy)
The Piercy family are Scotch-Irish. The family originally settled tin Burke County, North Carolina, coming to Cherokee county in 1848.
The First Piercy coming to the area were a brother and sister, John Wesley and Betty Piercy. When they first came to this section, they stayed for awhile with James and Harriet Stewart at their home north of Andrews. The Piercy's liked that section and decided to locate near the Stewarts. He built his home on a hill above the farm and he and his sister, Betty, lived there for many years. This farm was known for many years as "The Piercy Farm."
J. W. C. Piercy taught subscription schools at the Brittian Field School house. For many years he was county surveyor. He was assisted by William Beal of Murphy and Cooper of Graham county. His original book is in the possession of Edwin Hyde, Attorney of Murphy.
Piercy also acted as Deputy Sheriff in 1850. He married Betsy Collins, one of the pupils he taught at the Brittian School.
To this union were born thirteen (13) children: Emmaline; Elizabeth; Blake; DeWitt; Robert; Edmond; Harriet; Sallie; John; Jane; and Dick. Two (2) children died in infancy.
Tradition gives that Betty Piercy saved her money, which in that day was gold, to buy property below the Piercy tract. This land belonged to Stephen Whitaker. Betty counted out her money, fifteen thousand dollars in gold, placed it in the strong box and buried it. She died and it was never found.
I find J. W. C. Piercy Number 919 on the 1860 census for Valley Town, District, Cherokee, NC. He is listed as being 49 years old and County Surveyor. He was born in Burke Co., NC. Listed on the census with J. W. C. is Martha J. age 35, female, born in Haywood Co., NC.;
Mary E. age 14, female, born in Cherokee Co., NC; Catharine E. age 11, Female, born in Cherokee; William B. age 9, male born in Cherokee; V. D. W. C. age 7 male born in Cherokee; B. F. S. age 5, male, born in Cherokee; Edward B. age 4, Male, born in Cherokee: John C. age 2, male born in Cherokee, and Piercy, Elizabeth age 68, female, born in Burke Co. NC.
I find John W. C. Piercy on the 1850 census for Cherokee County NC as being 37 year old male, farmer. and Piercy, Elizabeth 54 year old female. Both being born in North Carolina.
Listed on the 1860 Census as being born in Burke Co. NC.
6. Stephen Pearsey was born about 1800 in Burke County, North Carolina, likely the son of Stephen and Delilah Pearsey.Stephen is listed as Stephen Pearsey, aged 16-26 in the 1820 census of Burke County, North Carolina. He was single.
JESSE ROBINSON and HANNAH BROOKSHIRE: Marriage: 19 January 1824, Haywood County, North Carolina.Bondsman:Stephen Piercy.
He moved across the Haywood County, North Carolina line to the west, to adjoining Cocke County, Tennessee. The 1830 census of Cocke County lists Stephen Piercy, aged 20-30.By now he’s married to a woman aged 40-50 and has 4 children in his household, at least two of whom are probably from her previous marriage.
It is strongly believed that Stephen married a woman named Sarah (Beck?), born about 1790 in North Carolina.Stephen had several children born in Tennessee, then he died at a young age, somewhere between 1836-40.In 1840, Sarah Pearcy, aged 40-50, a widow with 6 children, is listed on p.114 of the Haywood County, North Carolina census. The 1850 census of Gilmer County, Georgia lists Sarah Pearcy, 60, born N.C., as head of her household.Living with her were children Jacob W., 22 and Matilda, age 20.

I just went and checked my records. Jordan Pearcy's son William Washington Pearcy is mine. His wife was Nancy McMillan. William was born March 8, 1828 Burke and died June 12, 1899 Caldwell. He is buried as W W Pearcy at Harper's Chapel in Patterson, Caldwell, NC. Per the 1850 census my William seems to be Jordan's oldest son. Per death record on Sidney, he was older than William. I believe the census is correct that William was the eldest. My William is listed as Buck on 2 of his children's death records. Buck must have been his knckname. Source:J. Friedman
