Felicia,
I have some data here which I think will help you with your genealogy of the Piercy family. I found your Carey D. Pearcy in the 1860 census of Lyons Co. KY. which shows his parents:
1860 Lyons Co. Ky. p.719/57 11 July 1860
hh384
John Piercy 46 Farmer 0-330 KY
Elizth "" 36 Domestic Mississippi
Dicentha "" 22 Domestic KY
Leander H. "" 20 KY
Carey D. "" 18 ""
Elizath A. "" 14 ""
Phoeba Ann "" 12 ""
Jno W. "" 7 ""
Julia A. "" 5 ""
Thomas T. "" 3 ""
Elizabeth Ethrage 70 Old lady ""

Based on family records of this Lyons Co. family, John D. Pearcy was born September 26, 1814 in North Carolina to Allen & Clarkey (Ayres) Pearcy and died in 1867, Lyons Co. Ky.

Allen Pearcy (who had a son named Allen Carey Pearcy), was born about 1787 in North Carolina and grew up in the area of Plymouth, which was founded in 1787 in Tyrrell Co. NC. I believe his father was a James Pearcy who was listed in Tyrrell Co. NC., 1810 census, born after 1765.

Allen Pearcy was living in Kentucky as early as 1814 and by 1870 was living in Lyons Co.Ky. where he died.
