Followup on previous response:I found hard evidence posted on the net that Blake Piercy of Bertie Co. NC was impressed by the British about 1805 while working as a sailor and was asking for help proving he was an American.
This proves that Blake Persey who was a child listed in the will of William Persey, 1782, Bertie Co. N.C. did not migrate to Burke Co. N.C.He was bound to learn the trade of shoemaker in Bertie County, 1784.
Blake Piercy of Burke Co. N.C. (1760-1837) was in Burke Co. N.C. as early as 1779 when he served in the local militia during the American Revolution. His mother helped him from the battlefield of Cowpens, S.C.
Clearly, two different men but probably closely related.
