John Pearcy, a son of John and Elizabeth (Webber) Pearcy, was born in Devon, England April 10, 1737 and died in Beford County VA in 1834. (we found the church record of his birth)His will was dated February 8, 1834 and was probated in Bedford County July 28, 1834. He married Anna Margaret Spencer in Bedford county December 29, 1758.Anna was born in about 1738 and died in Bedford County in 1836.
The connection that I made prior to John and Anna margaret Spencer was my GGG Grandfather Henry and Rachel (nee Gross)Pearcy. The brother of your James Pearcy.
Henry Pearcy/Peircy (John Peircy, John) was born November 16, 1776 in Bedford Co., VA (per bible record), and died February 15, 1859 in Bedbord Co., VA (copy of death record & will proved Bedford County Court, February 28, 1859, Bedford Co., VA).He married Rachel Gross December 17, 1807 in Bedford Co., VA (copy of marriage bond record), daughter of Isaac Gross and Catherine. She was born 1774 in Bedford, VA and died abt. 1850 in Bedford Co., VA.
My GGGrandparents, (Henry's daughter) Nancy Pearcy, b. 1820 in Bedford Co., VA, d. bet. 1880-1895 in Vichy, Johnson Township, Maries Co., MO.She is buried in the family burial grounds of the farm. She married Moses Walrond/Waldron on September 7, 1847 in Bedford Co., VA (copy of marriage bond), b. July 1828 in Bedford Co., VA and d.March 24, 1904, in Vichy, Maries Co., MO.He is also buried in the family burial grounds of the old Waldron Farm.Moses according to family history married Nancy andtwo of her sisters. We have proof of one other and have not found the proof on the third however all three Pearcy sisters are in the same burial grounds.
Well, that was how I found the connections. I also saw that family site and yes there is a mistake in it.The family history that has been passed down through the family I believe was proven by finding the birth record for the date matching John Peircy birth in the UK.I believe part of the problem with the information on the site is that there was an earlier Percy, Peircy, Pierce family in VA which lived in another area.Which when traced further back is also connected trhough another line of them. When it comes down to it all the Percy/Peircy/Pearcy or whatever spelling in the US eventually connect up to the main de Percy line. The problem is finding the exact connective link and in the case of this family line I know it's not through the one stated on the site, because our names, dates, facts and records to connect to that one don't match up. That's only my opinion though. What do you think?
