Thanks...if you can help that would be great!
Rebecca
Help all!
Right now I'm in hyper mode ready to crack another missing link and willing to dance, sing, and do just about anything short
of selling my soul to get info leading up to the 'capture' of this information!...;}
Do you know of any Circus that moved in and around NJ,PA,NY in early 1900's? (see below for details)
Looking for any help with the following family names and direct relationships:
1)Stephen P. Camp to Sarah Horn parents of James S. Camp b.1864 wife Alice H. Bailey b.1872 parents Samuel L. Bailey &
Pheoba Hyson? Atsion, Shamong Co. Winslow, Camden Co.
2)William Blood b.? husband of Mary Emma Camp b. 1903. Sister or mother Edna Blood? Raising two Pierce Children in
Camden NJ. Looking for living Bloods!
3)Pierces in Camden 1890-present. Including cousins Perceval or Perciville sp? who came with them to this country from
Ireland!
4)Looking for Books or Photos of Cranberry Boggs and 'Camden Forge'. Where Pierces/Camps were supposed to have
worked.
Here again is my missing persons 'list'...
*John (Happy) Pierce b, 1892 d.1936 waked at Leonards Funeral home, buried in East Camden Cemetery? In NJ
His two brothers: (not verified)
James (nickname Lucky)
George ( Hats)
Sisters:(not verified)
Josephine Pierce (had red hair)
Myrtle Pierce(married to a Kripts sp?) nickname Bonnie
Margaret Pierce(married to a Kripts also) nickname Meg
Laura Pierce(had son named Deucy)?
Misc info:
*Originally the family came over from Ireland with cousins named Percival (spelling)
*Most of this Pierce family settled in South Jersey moving out of Camden at some point.
*Mary Emma Camp b.03/1903 d. 1985? 'married' William Blood
Had daughter named Dorothy Blood abt. 1917?
*Mary Emma next 'married' John (Happy) Pierce b.189?d.1936-7?
*After ten years together John Happy Pierce died of TB or something related. He was laid out at Leonards Funeral home,
buried in East Camden Cemetery in NJ.?
*Living Children of Mary and John Happy Pierce
Loraine Pierce b. 1924? (married Robert Campbell)
John Pierce JR. b. 1934 (married Barbara Hamilton)
*Shortly after J. Pierces death Mary Emma was common law to John Vernelli they lived together in Blackwood, NJ.
*Mystery Woman and Snake Charmer!
Maisey ?/Camp/Pierce
Maizey and James Pierce had a son and daughter
James b. 2/22/1925 d. 3/19/1997
Doris b. 3/08/1927 Living?
*Later Maisey ?/Pierce? married Charles Camp who is grandmother Mary E Camps cousin. Charlie and Maisey ran off and
joined a circus returning home some weekends. Maisey was a snake charmer and Charlie was a 'Barker'!
*I may have a Census record of the two Pierce children living with Mary Blood.
The 1900 census lists George and Mary with three children:
1. May E. Blood, born APR 1895 PA
2. William M. Blood, born FEB 1897 PA
3. Tressa Blood, born OCT 1898 NJ
Mary is in the 1920 census living at 1460 S 3rd St, Camden, NJ. She
has four children listed and a boarder but no
husband. It is odd that the oldest and youngest sons are named Blood
and the two middle children are named Pierce. I do
not know if George Blood is deceased or just separated from Mary in
1920.
Census 1920 Camden NJ
Mary Blood --- 42 PA
William Blood Son 23 PA
Jesse Pierce Son 15 NJ
Edna Pierce Dau 16 NJ
James W Blood Son 5 NJ
George Bender Bo 35 NJ
*Have found a photo of headstone of son James Pierce Jr? at Mt Pleasant Mills Cemetery. On the headstone stone is
marked 'Private in the Army WWII' birth and death date and above is a name Doris with no death date. Could be his wife
or sister.
*Doris Pierce his sister may have married a very prominent Pharmacist who owned his own drug store in Camden area
*I have no photos of John and Mary together or any of the Blood family. My fathers only wish is to see a photo of his dad
someday!
