Elijah F. Peacock my gg grandfather of Luray, Henry County, Indiana. He was born in Loudoun County, VA. July 4, 1808 and died July 2, 1885. The second son of Samuel and Ann (Workman) Peacock, both natives of Virginia. When fifteen years of age he went to work for his cousin at the blacksmith's trade serving an apprenticeship. After he learned his trade he went to Maryland and took the job of sharpening drill picks for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Company. On January 20, 1842; he married Mary Jane Wright at the New Jersalem Lutheran Church in Lovetteville, Loudon County, Virginia by the Rev Daniel J. Haver. In 1845 he moved to Henry County, Indiana and opened a blacksmith shop in Luray. They had six children--B.F., William H., Cassa A., Susan J., Rebecca and Sarah. Both Elijah and Mary Jane are buried at the Beech Grove Cemetery in Henry County, Indiana.
I am looking for any additional information available on Elijah or his family.
