I do not think your Peacock line is related to mine, which originates in the Carolinas, so I cannot help with your Gilbert.

I found him in Kansas too.

Gilbert F Peacock
Census Date:        1 Mar 1885
Residence County:        Sedgwick
Residence State:        Kansas
Locality:        Delano
Birth Location:        Ohio
Family Number:        68
Marital Status:        Married
Gender:        Male
Estimated Birth Year:        abt 1826
Race:        White
Line:        28
Roll:        KS1885_124

Be aware that there is a county called Sedgwick, which is where your Gilbert was, and there is a township called Sedgwick in Harvey County. My line moved from Selma OH to Sedgwick Township, Harvey Co, KS
