My wife is a Ledbetter, descended from Hamilton and Jane A. (Peacock) Ledbetter. May info concerning the ancestry of Jane and Sophie Peacock is rather scant (in fact, until your genforum entry, I didn't know of any of Jane's siblings) and all I have is: Father John Peacock — son of Thomas and Elizabeth (nee?) Peacock — and mother: Ann Woodward— daughter of William and Ann (nee?) Woodward. I have a few dates to go along with those names but that's about it. Can you halp me out.
Terrific to hear that your g-grandfather Colbert and my wife's ggg-grandfather Hamilton were on good terms. Perhaps you have any definitive information as to who was Hamilton's father. I've heard stories (Henry, Drury) but have seen no proof. Got anything on Hamilton?
