Elizabeth Briggs Stephens is the second child of John and Constance Peacock Briggs. She married John Stephens and they moved from Brown County to Nauvoo in Hancock County. They moved west to Utah 1851-1852 on one of the wagon trains.

In 1881 and 1882 James and Daniel Monroe Stephens preformed their 2 year mission. They started the mission in Brown County then went on to Michigan. At the end of the 2 years they returned to Brown County. The purpose of the mission was to take the book of Mormon to the people and try to convert people to the LDS Church. They held services in homes and preached almost every night. During the day in Brown County they talked to Aunts, Uncles and cousins trying to find out who their ancestors were.

All this information was recorded in what was called Daniel's Big Book. The book is the daily diary of the information they obtained from their kin. The first error was they were told Elizabeth Peacock Hedrick was dead when they were only a half day buggy ride from her house. Daniel's big book was held by the Stephens family and is not a part of the Family History Library.

Dr. Harold Barker and Maureen Clifford were writing a book on their Peacock Family. Some parts of the Big Book are in the appendix of the book they wrote on the Briggs Family.
Dr. Barker pointed out the page that listed Constance's siblings in now missing from the book. The book had brothers William, John and Samuel and a sister Mary.

The LDS records are based on these recollections and do not fit facts we have today.

In the US Census of 1880 Constance Peacock reported she was born in NC and her parents were both born in MD.
In the US Census of 1880 Edward Person Peacock reported his father was born in MD.
In the US Census of 1880 Michael Sides reported his mother was born in MD.
Constance grew up in the area of Flat Swamp in Davidson County and married a neighbor.
Delila lived in Cabarrus and married there.

Are you the one that told me the full text of her wedding bond gives John S Peacock for her fathers name.

Samuel Peacock is the only one of the three brothers that I have a middle name for his was Sicklemore. I would not be surprised if John's was also Sicklemore his mothers maiden name.
