Lydy S. Dau F May 1900 0/12 MO NY MO
Shuey Henry J. Fath-in-L Mar 1845 55 Wd b. OH OH PA
So it looks like the German John Petsche guess is correct.

Also Found a record for Henry J. Shuey of Brownsville, NEB age 18 born OHIO enlisted in the 2nd Regimental Nebraska Cavalry Comp E 8th Corp. on 4 Nov 1862 Mustered out Dec 8 1862.
