I have no evidence that this is the Annie Peace I'm looking for, but it seems favourite at the moment.
An Annie Peace, a domestic servant from Gratwich, gave birth in 1908 in Uttoxeter's workhouse to my grandmother, Lilian Ivy Plant Peace.I suspect that Plant might have been the father's name, but have no way of knowing at the moment.Lilian Ivy was 'adopted' by the Silcock family of Boylestone, Derbyshire.
I believe that such adoptions were sometimes kept in the family.Do you have any Silcocks in your family tree?Or do you have any evidence either to support or refute my suppositions?
