Selim Peabody's 1909 book identifies Thomas Huddy Peabody's parents as Jeremiah Pabody and ? Huddy, while RI Vital Statistics identifies them as John and Abbie Peabodie at the time of Thomas' death in 1867 (as do Newport Co. births from death records). Can anyone explain this disparity? I can neither find additional information about Jeremiah nor any record of a John and Abbie Peabodie in RI at that time.
