Hi - I am searching for any and all information regarding Jean/John D. Payette - born about 1847 near Montreal, Quebec. I've been told that he was the son of Narcisse Payette St. Amour and (Melanie)-Zoe Quintal but I have no proof of this. He emigrated to US and married Bridget Delia Noonan 02 March 1867/Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She died 1899, he died 17 May 1914/Rapid City, South Dakota (confirmed). Parents of 9 children. Railroad man.
John was supposedly one of 18 children born to Narcisse & Zoe. The information that I do have is as follows. Sisters: Zoe (b. c. 1833/Canada & married Francois Marois 17 Jun 1850/Ste.Julienne Parish, Repentigny, Quebec); Eleanore (b. 03 July 1834/St. Roche, L'Achigan, Quebec & married Laurent Chevigny 26 Oct 1858/Varennes, Quebec), Cecile (b. 04 Nov 1836/St. Roche, L'Achigan, Quebec & married Hyacinthe Brien 09 Oct 1869/ Varennes, Quebec); Marie-Philomene (b. 98 Oct 1838/St. Roche, L'Achigan, Quebec & died 14 Dec 1838/Repentigny, Quebec); Orzeal(?) (b. Oct 1843/Canada & married ? LaParent - emigrated to CT in 1888, died post 1900); Exilda (b. c. 1856/Canada & married Francois Rousse-Matheau 24 Jul 1876/St. Paul,L'Ermite, Quebec). All confirmed as daughters of Narcisse & Zoe.
Brothers: Narcisse (Nelson) (b. c. 1840/Near Montreal & married Rosella Benoit c. 1865, died post 1904/US); Joseph (b. c. 1847/Near Montreal & married 1) Hannah (Anna) Benoit 23 Jun 1868/Sioux City,Iowa, 2) Philomene St. Pierre 1890/Montreal, Quebec, died post 1910/US); Theophile (b. 20 July 1854/Repentigny, Quebec & married Minnie ? in US, died post 1930/US); James (b. c. 1845/Canada-died post 1920/US); Mathias (b. 30 Mar 1850/Ste. Julienne Parish, Repentigny); Adolphus D.(b. c. 1858/Canada-died post 1910/US); Delon (no info); Paul (no info). Only Mathias is confirmed as son of Narcisse & Zoe - Theophile strong circumstantial evidence.
