I don't think I can help you on the Payette family but our lines cross as follows:

My mother was a Lemieux, d/o Joseph Josué and Marie-Adelina-Ludivine Decosse.

Ludivine Decosse was d/o Léon & Justine Phoenix-Dauphinet.

Do you know that our ancestor, Pierre Payette was taken prisoner by the Amerindians in 1690?
