Hi, I'm researching my Paxton family lineage and have documentation back to James Austin Paxton (b. 1819 in Emmitsburg, MD, d. 1895 in Washington, D.C.). He was the son of a Thomas Paxton (there are many out there), and brother of Altha (1807-1907), Joseph (b. 1833), Thomas S. (1829-1908) and John S. (b. 1814).
My Grandmother corresponded with Frank Paxton Jr of Kansas City in the 1990s, and he provided some information, but not enough to link his family to mine. Frank Jr. has since passed, and I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to get a copy of his book (not sure it was even published).
Has anyone run across a James Austin Paxton?
