Daniel Trigg to James Paxton, 1846 promissory note

I picked this up on a auction, this came from a Abingdon Virgina estate, a promissory note from doctor Daniel Trigg to pay $169.00 to James W. Paxton.
dated October 6,1846. Washington co. George R. Barr certified that it was credited on the orinal note-jan.22,1856. if anybody wants to see the note let me know and i will try to e-mail it to you. Makes me wonder what service it was for & what paxton line this fits in.
