Based on the information I found in census records, I assumed Mary died, and Adeline was the second wife. Where my real problem lies in in the children of Adeline. Most of my great aunts and uncles are dead, and all of my grandparents are dead, so I don't have any live resources. The story goes that my great grandfather, James M. Paxton, was a son of William and Adeline. The census records I found show a James, but his year of birth is off. I am trying to find some other information somewhere that may show his date of birth, siblings, anything to give me a clue.

I am also trying to verify that William's father, Joseph, is the same Joseph mentioned in the Paxton book as removing to KY. The book also notes a son William. It is this James-William-Joseph connection I need to firm up before I can continue on with the work.
